Mitera's Story

Where we came from:

Mitera Granola was born and is being raised in South Georgia. Her CEO and Founder, Kathy Werner, is passionate about everything around her. Her sense of adventure started at the tender age of four, when her family moved to Africa. Her parent’s wanderlust took them all over the world giving her the opportunity to experience cultures and locations that many only dream about. Trying new things was normal and expected. As an adult she has kept her adventurous spirit and hopes her daughters learn to embrace life and the world around them.

Where we are now:

Wild, crazy and full of fun! Our experience with Mitera Granola so far has been unbelievable! When the first test batch of granola came out of Kathy’s oven, a neighbor stopped by and sampled it. She went crazy over it. Not only did this inspire Kathy, it inspired the neighbor, Christina, who became hooked on Mitera’s granola and philosophies and asked to join the team. Eager for another passionate person to share this adventure with, Kathy readily accepted. Christina’s experience in hospitality and human resources made the perfect counterpart to Kathy’s ‘head-first’ nature. Another important player in the daily operations of Mitera is Maureen O’Reilly, Kathy’s mother. She has sacrificed, supported, suffered, tolerated, listened, and nurtured as any good parent should. Without her unwavering belief, we would be nothing today!

The greatest part about what we are doing is the company we keep. It is inspiring to find other people that believe in themselves and the world around them. Running our own company allows us to stay surrounded by passionate people. This motivates us every day.
