Because Life is Beautiful...   :   Our Inspiration

Mitera Granola was created as a celebration of life. “Because life is beautiful…” embodies everything that we believe in and defines how we run our company and our lives. Everybody has struggles and challenges to face each day. How we choose to deal with hardship tells the world what kind of person we are.

Individuals that face adversity with a spirit that says, “This is not going to beat me!” inspire all of us at Mitera. One individual that has touched us very deeply is Allison Holmes. Kathy has known Allison’s family for over twenty-five years and thinks of Allison as family. At the age of thirteen Allison was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. She began her chemo therapy in the fall of 2007 and in December doctors removed an eight inch section of her femur. Her final treatment was in May, 2008 and Allison’s strength and grace have persevered. Her recovery is a blessing every day and makes us remember how important our loved ones are to us.

Mitera Granola wants to give back to individuals like Allison that have shown the true meaning of living. As the company grows we will find remarkable individuals, and treat them to something special – whatever they want…the sky is the limit! Start thinking, Allison! What shall we do?
